Psychology of Baby Room Color

Choosing the right baby room color is important since colors influence human’s mood and behavior and as a result the relationship between people. When deciding what your baby room colors should be you must consider the character of all family members more or less involved in baby care. You should also consider several things. The first is your own personality. Parents, especially mothers, spend much time with the baby in her room and it is important that they should feel comfortably. The second thing is what kind of person you want your baby to become. Different colors cause different positive or negative character features to advance more than others. The third is what you would like your relationships to be like.
Next come some of the most used colors and their qualities.
Red is an energizing color. If your baby is too sleepy you can stimulate her physical activity with red room color design. Just consider well since red can be overstimulating and your baby and develop aggressive behavior.

Orange and yellow are considered nice and friendly colors, known for their ability to stimulate communication skills and perception. But there is a risk that by the end of the day your baby can become too excited and some sleep problems may appear.
Green and lime colors are considered to be peaceful and fresh. They are common choice for baby room color design. Recent studies however show that long exposure to green color make human develop anxiety and constant desire for changes. Also don’t use dark green shades for they can make the room too gloomy.
Cyan is well known for its calming properties. It is a good choice for baby room color – girl’s as well as boy’s - especially if your baby is too active and needs to be calmed down. Keep in mind that cyan can make baby too sleepy and lazy.

Blue and violet colors boost imagination and creative thinking. Also they form nice contrast combinations with light and warm color shades. But since they are dark, too much of them in baby room color design can lead to introversive and melancholic behavior.
Pink, beige and brown are traditional choice for baby room color design. But there is a belief that pink induces the desire to inculcate.  Beige and brown are preferred by homebodies. Also some shades of brown are dark and gloomy.
Achromatic white, gray and especially black are not considered proper colors for baby room. They don’t provide enough simulation for baby’s attention. And despite the symbolic of white color, they all lack any specific characteristics.
